During this event, we had a "Racing to the Abyss" Prompt that required people to draw 4 pieces of art so their Alumy can compete (and potentially win) a race! The winners of this race are:

Hello Alumers,
Here's the September-October staff update for the Species!

Last month, the staff was busy with specific behind-the-scenes work, trying to go towards the goals that we had set.

Admin and Species mods, with the input of other staff, have been working on updating a few of our processes.:

• Staff Design approval has been updated to be in a forum channel instead of a regular Discord channel, with the hope this will make it so staff approvals will not fall through the cracks. Design approval forms have also been edited to make uploads more accurate.
• Masterlisters have created a schedule to track availability + improved communication for times that Masterlisters cannot be there.
• Event coordinators Rmin JJBum Vilagyent Nightspirit Philologique have been hard at work managing the “Summertime Odyssey” event. carlos_claee and the Species mods have been working on the Halloween event which will be starting in October.
• Vilagyent , MarskyMessier , carlos_claee , and Blu_x_Jay have gotten significantly into trait art creation, with around 1/3rds of the traits fully drawn out with the base that was voted on in the Discord. They are hoping that traits will be finished and released soon.
• Discord mods and Astr0fish have reopened the Draw the Alumy Above channels in the Discord, and sent out relevant rewards. If you want to learn more about that, please check out the newsletter here!: https://alumyworld.com/news/17.draw-the-alumy-above-update
• Discord mods and Astr0fish have also revamped the rules for the Discord channel, as well as added relevant reaction roles that have been requested in the past to be added to the server.
• Vilagyent , Blu_x_Jay , and wearycosmos have been working on updating trait descriptions to make it clear what each trait is supposed to be.
• Masterlisters Froggy , mawkatsu , L_moncello are working through the Missing Alumy form and making sure all Alumies that need to be on the masterlist are on the masterlist.
• MarskyMessier is working on art revamps for icons as well as updating various things in regards to website development. He is also working on UI updates as well as a potential Halloween theme! Everything website development-wise is updated on the Dev log, here: https://alumyworld.com/devlogs

Hopefully this will give you an idea of what's going on in regards to the inner workings of the Alumy Staff! Things have been working relatively smoothly, and each section of staff are doing their assigned tasks swimmingly. We still have things we would like to improve and work on, and we will continue to keep those at the forefront of our work as we continue to grow.

The Summertime Odyssey event has now ended! Thank you all so much for taking part in this event- it has been an absolute pleasure to see all of your art that you've made over the past two months. We will approve all sent-in prompts in the next week, and we'll send out more announcements in the next week regarding raffles + more!

Guest artists draw Adopts for the species during two months, and have access to Common and Uncommon traits! The Guest Artist position is expected to make adopts during the whole time of being a Guest artist in the species. Guest Artists also keep all profits from adopts!

Hi all! I wanted to quickly let you know a few updates regarding our Discord-based Draw the Alumy Above game, in which only a little bit pertains to the website; however, I figured it might be worth mentioning.

Over the last month or so we have gone through all submissions to the Draw The Alumy Above drawing game (we being me ( Astr0fish), and our Discord Moderators Plov , SICPARANOIA-PNG , and wearycosmos ) and graded them all based off of the scale below:

Color
Flat colors / Greyscale - (No additional crystals)
Shading (of any type- minimal shading also receives these crystals) - 15 Crystals

Background
No Background - (No additional crystals)
Props/Scene Elements (any resemblance of a prop/scene element in a picture receives these crystals) - 20 Crystals
Scene Background - 35 Crystals

Format
Headshot/Bust - 10 Crystals
Halfbody - 15 Crystals
Fullbody - 25 Crystals

+5 crystals for any additional uncolored sketch
+2 crystals for a 2 to 3 frame animation
+10 crystals for any animated background (must be at least 5 frames)
+20 crystals for a simple animation (limbs/features moving)
+40 crystals for a complex animation (full body movement)

Pieces will only be given crystals if and only if they've done their DtAA before the deadline (of one month)

We have also split the Draw the Alumy Above into two channels and required the people who take part to do their part in less time, but it makes it so everyone will get a piece if they participate!

The site-relevant info is that the DtAA rewards for every single DtAA have been sent out to all of your LoreKeeper accounts, if you have taken part in the DtAA challenge before! Each crystal amount sent includes a URL for the specific DtAA that was sent (which is in the Alumy Discord), and the equation for how many crystals each DtAA received. Each DtAA was reviewed by all the Discord Moderators and compiled into a separate spreadsheet and checked off when each of them was sent.

There are a few people that do not have LoreKeeper accounts at this current moment, so we cannot send crystals to an account that does not exist! If you do not have a Lorekeeper account, or you've done a DtAA and you're missing a DtAA entry, then please Create a Claim on the website! We can help you from there, and send the Crystals over to you.

The Race into the Abyss has started!!!

Hello one and all to the Race into the Abyss! The Alumies that you signed up previously are now getting ready to race down into the depths!

The moodboards have been posted on the prompt page, but you can also see them here! Alumies need to race through:

[START] Shallow Water
Kelp Forest
Colorful Reef
[FINISH] Shark Cove

The minimum for this race is your submitted Alumies drawn as a flat-colored full-body which must somehow show inspiration from the moodboards. (Props/backgrounds/etc)! Once we've gotten farther into the race, we will put announcements out about who have won first, second, and third place. As a reminder, the prizes are: 

1st to finish - Rare MYO Ticket

2nd to finish - Uncommon MYO Ticket

3rd to finish - Common MYO Ticket

and, as another reminder, all participants in the race (even if they are racing in the event at their own pace) will receive:

50 crystals per Alumy, per stage

Design Raffle ticket + A water orb for completing the race

Heres a small announcement regarding the current Spring into Summer event-

Make sure to use your raffle tickets from your inventory yourself (if you've done enough prompts for the Myth MYO raffle) so you can be entered into the raffle! The item is called the "Spring Cleaning 2024 Mythical MYO raffle" (It looks like this: https://alumyworld.com/world/items/22 ), and if you've completed enough prompts for either the Egg Hunt, Spring Flowers, Makeover, or the Dusting off the Cobwebs prompts, you are eligible to join the raffle.

The requirements are:
- For Egg hunt, A myth myo raffle ticket will be given to your account once you've submitted 5 prompts of this type
- For Spring Flowers, A myth myo raffle ticket will be given to your account once you've submitted 4 prompts of this type
- For Makeover, A myth myo raffle ticket will be given to your account once you've submitted 3 prompts of this type
- For Dusting off the Cobwebs, A myth myo raffle ticket will be given to your account once you've submitted 3 prompts of this type

You can get up to 4 Myth MYO raffle tickets for the "Spring Cleaning 2024 Mythical MYO raffle" in all!

The Egg Hunt specific Egg adopt raffle will be rolled a few days after the event is over, and everyone that has gotten the required amount of egg hunt prompts will be added to the raffle- you will NOT need to use a ticket from your inventory for that raffle.
